To help the large number of smokers who decide to quit at New Year there will be extra services available to drop in at:

Atherstone - Saturday 2nd and 9th February 2008 between 10.30-12.30 at One-Stop Shop, North Warwickshire Borough Council, South Street, Atherstone

Nuneaton - Saturday 12th, 19th, 26th January 2008 between 12.20-3.30 at Nuneaton Library, Church Street, Nuneaton

Rugby - Saturday 2nd & 9th February 2008 between 10.00 –12.00 at Rugby Library, Elborow Street, Rugby

Leamington - Monday 7th or Monday 14th January 2008 between 5.30 pm and 7.30 pm at Healthy Living Centre, Shrubland Street, Leamington Spa (on bus route 66)

At the drop-ins there is weekly support to stop along with nicotine replacement products such as patches or gum at prescription rates.

There is a range of options available across Warwickshire throughout the year for smokers who want to quit, including GP surgeries, pharmacies and community venues.  All services provide regular support appointments and stop smoking products at prescription rates such as patches, gum, Champix® or Zyban®.

Jane Wright, Warwickshire NHS Stop Smoking Service said, ”With additional services and new products we know that smokers who use the support available will have the best chance of stopping for good, to enjoy the health and other benefits of being smoke free.”
